Jack Ward is a partner at Reno & Zahm, where he has practiced since 1978. He brings more than 35 years of experience to the firm, with a practice that focuses on forming and advising closely held businesses on matters including mergers and acquisitions, general corporate, partnership, and limited liability company involvement with related real estate and estate planning issues pertinent to closely-held business owners. As needed, Mr. Ward has been involved in complex commercial litigation including trust, estate, and bankruptcy litigation.

A native of the south side of Chicago, Mr. Ward graduated with an accounting degree, summa cum laude, from Brigham Young University in 1975. He also received his J.D., cum laude, from Brigham Young in 1978, with an emphasis on business, corporate, and estate tax-related matters. Mr. Ward is a member of the Federal Trial Bar and is admitted to practice before the State Court of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Ward’s business practice includes representation and furnishing business advice to manufacturing concerns, financial institutions, distribution companies and manufacturer representatives, physicians and physician groups, and other lawyers and law firms.

Sought out because of his extensive experience, Mr. Ward has been a frequent speaker on business and estate planning issues affecting owners of closely-held businesses. He is involved in alternative dispute resolution as a means of resolving matters without the necessity of protracted litigation. He currently serves as a mediator and is also an arbitrator for the arbitration program in Winnebago County.

Outside of the firm, Mr. Ward is extensively involved in community projects, including participation on numerous local boards and committees.
